Arthur, the factory boss is desperate.
What's the matter with his pillows?
Lise can't sleep. She's tired, angry
and desperate. Finally she ends up in the bath tub where Sandman an his
servant Ole try to calm her down. They have tried everything. Bags full
of sand, but no result. This girl is impossible.
Sandman's last hope is a story: the
story of Benjamin:
It's a story about
a little man, Benjamin, who works in the local pillow factory.
Benjamin doesn’t talk much, but he is a great ‘hummer’.
As he sews the final seems in the pillow, Benjamin is always
humming.
The pillows are extraordinary, because they always give
people a deep, delicious sleep. When Benjamin’s musical talent is
discovered, he leaves the factory for a new career. But at the same time
the magic pillows loose their magic.

RED EARTH

From
november 20 till december 5 the show Red
Earth will be rehearsed again, to go on
tour in South Africa. Onny Huisink will
give masterclasses for theatre students
at the University of Cape Town. Saskia
Janse will give a lecture about Arts and
Business in the same period.
Mysteries on Marken is a project on
location on the Isle of Marken, with
more than 20 young and more experienced
theatre makers, a.o. from Het Houten
Huis. During a 3 hour walk over the Isle
the audience will be surprised with
theatre performances, music and other
surprises. The nature is beautiful and
you will be aware of the overwhelming
power of the water and the elements,
that played such an important role in
Marken's history. We will end the walk
with a delicious dinner of healthy fresh
prepared food. So if
you are planning to go to the
Netherlands, don't miss this last, big
event of Speeltheater Holland.
